SPECIAL REPORT: PMI Voted #12 of Top Places To Work In Central Texas! The Austin Business Journal has named Phoenix Management, Inc, as one of the Top 20 Best Places to Work in Central Texas! Entries were judged upon which business had the best climate, team atmosphere, benefits, engaged employees and other like criteria. Outcomes were based upon survey inputs provided by PMI's Austin-based employees. The results were announced on 21 June 2007 during a luncheon held at the Renaissance Austin Hotel. Competitors were categorized as either small, medium or large, based upon the number of employees. PMI qualified for the small category, having less than 50 employees in the Central Texas area. Over 150 companies made the first cut and the competition was fierce. Other candidates who made the Top 50 included Austin Marriott North, Hilton Austin, State Farm Insurance, Time-Warner Cable and Seton Hospital. This was PMI's first time entering the competition, which requires direct input from company employees and a 95% or better participation rate. PMI walked away with a beautiful trophy and a great sense of accomplishment for being ranked so high on its first go at the competition!

PMI receives laudatory comments from Government personnel for continued world-class service! A PMI employee at Westover ARB receives recognition for stellar performance. Vincent Engle (AKA 'VT') has been nominated for the Lt Gen Gordon A. Blake Aircraft Save/Aircraft Assist Award for his actions while handling a recent In-Flight Emergency (IFE) involving a C5 aircraft with one engine out. When the aircraft was approximately 4 miles from final approach, VT observed a flock of large birds over the approach end of the runway. He immediately notified the tower of the birds' location, raised the bird watch condition, deployed two scare cartridges, and dispersed the birds before the aircraft crossed the runway's end. He was praised for keeping the tower informed of the birds' location while minimizing frequency congestion and allowing the Ground Controller to coordinate with the other controllers on the aerodrome. His quick thinking, outstanding use of pyrotechnic equipment, excellent radio discipline and phraseology, and calm demeanor under pressure directly contributed to the safe recovery of the wing's aircraft and crew.
