During the Year 2007:
- PMI Corporate Personnel and Transportation Motor Pool employees from Ft. Bragg, NC lauded for being true supporters of troops during Operation Iraqi Freedom. PMI provided 11 bus trips to the airport transporting soldiers and their personal belongings free of charge!
- PMI employees at Westover Air Reserve Base (ARB), Massachusetts closed out 2007 with another superb collection of kudos from nearly all of its workcenters.
For example, Westover logistics planners recently conducted a desktop deployment exercise as part of a scheduled Unit Training Assembly. PMI's Transportation Management Office manager, "Hurricane" Hassell Frye, received enthusiastic praise during this effort for his help in testing new operational procedures for Westover's Personnel Readiness Unit.In a separate event, Hurricane Hassell and Bryan Lepage were praised by Headquarters, Air Mobility Command, for expediting a high priority shipment needed to repair an aircraft stranded in Rota Naval Air Station, Spain. Bryan, who works in Supply, rapidly prepared the paperwork and called in Hassell Frye from home to get it packed and shipped expeditiously.Westover's Vehicle Maintenance and Operations received numerous verbal kudos and letters of thanks for their terrific support of a recent Human Resource and Development Council (HRDC) event hosted by Westover ARB. Attendees included several 22nd Air Force Wing commanders, who required rental cars and bus transportation to and from the conference. The conference hosted over 100 participants, to include VIPs such as MGEN Mazick, the 22nd AF Commander. One of the dignitaries, Col Tim Costa, was so impressed with PMI's quality of service that he sent PMI employee Steve Perreault a personal thank you letter and a unit patch (Steve collects them). In Supply, PMI employee Holly Spath received firewall "Exceeded My Expectations" ratings from a highly satisfied customer who had an ASAP need for desert boots. Holly, who works in the Individual Equipment Unit (IEU) store, has a broad range of skills. In her off time, she's a key member of a local roller derby team. Despite knowing how to deliver "track rash" and "cannonballs" to opposing rollergirls, she also knows how to deliver friendly, confident and professional service to PMI customers.Westover's Assistant Fire Chief, Michael Morrissey, also took time out to thank PMI mechanic Dave Martel for his exceptional efforts in repairing a P-30 Fire Truck. The P-30, described as being in "very poor condition" when it first arrived, is now back in top condition thanks to Dave's fantastic work. Asst Fire Chief Morrissey specifically praised Dave for always being "courteous and professional," stating that Dave is "an asset to Westover and a great representative for PMI."One of PMI's newest Westover employees, Jessica LaFogg, has carved out a solid reputation for her extensive job knowledge and customer service. Jessica started with PMI as a planner/estimator and currently serves as Real Property Maintenance Supervisor. In response to the brilliant service he recently received from Jessica, Mr. John Masters, Westover's Communications Squadron Air Field Systems Facilities Manager, wrote, "(Jessica is) starting to set a pattern of excellence. By keeping customers informed, she helps us to see that she really cares. I hope that there is some way of letting her superiors know how pleased I am with her work ethic."Lastly, from May 2007 through November 2007, our Westover team provided logistical support for the Air National Guard's entire 167th Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) out of Martinsburg, West Virginia. Five of the 167th's C-5 aircraft (the largest cargo transport plane in the Air Force inventory) operated out of Westover while Martinsburg's runway underwent reconstruction and conversion from a C-130 to a C-5 mission. This sudden and additional requirement challenged our Westover team to support Martinsburg's LRS with extensive training in Supply, Aircraft Maintenance and Fuels as well as provide logistical support for their Transportation Management, Maintenance and Supply needs at the same time with no additional manpower. Our Westover team was enthusiastically praised for its accomplishments. The 167th's Supply Superintendent forwarded his comments to the base contracting office, stating how impressed the unit was with PMI's "professionalism and enthusiasm" and "exceptional skill, ability and talent to surmount difficulties in your path and enliven those with whom you come in contact."Westover, CONGRATULATIONS on making 2007 a banner year of achievement and success… let's keep building on our successes in 2008!
- PMI Fuels employees at Tinker AFB, OK received high praise for their performance during a high-visibility inspection. Government personnel stated, "I just want to say thanks again to all of you for your performance this week. I knew we would do very well, but to deliver the results you did was truly spectacular. I'm a baseball fan and to me it was like going from last place to winning the World Series in just one season! The fact that all findings were corrected would have been enough to earn a satisfactory rating, but to walk away without any new findings is unprecedented. You've set the benchmark for the rest of the Command and they'll be looking to you now for process improvement ideas. I'm so very proud to be part of this great team and I'm excited about our future. We going to face a lot challenges in the near future, but I know we're ready! Thanks again for a job well done!"

MSgt Brian McKee of the Martinsburg, West Virginia, Air National Guard (ANG), took time out to praise his Westover coworkers this month. Martinsburg is undergoing a conversion from C-130s to C-5As, and its flightline is being reconstructed to accommodate the additional runway surface needed for the C-5s. The Martinsburg ANG is staging its aircraft at Westover through November 2007, and Westover is providing familiarization training to help support their conversion, especially in the areas of Supply and Fuels. - PMI Employees at Westover ARB, MA deliver outrageous customer service in a safe, smart and efficient manner! A C-130 aircraft commander from the 39th Airlift Squadron out of Dyess AFB, TX, delivered a blanket "Thank You" to the entire Westover team for their exceptional service in meeting his short notice requirements. The crew was running slightly ahead of schedule and slated to spend the night at Westover before returning home to Texas. With their duty day rapidly ticking away, the crew realized they could get back to their families that same day if Westover was able to turn the plane in less than one hour. When the aircraft was 25 minutes from landing at Westover, it made a plea for an extensive list of support equipment, to include customs, fuel, maintenance stands, transportation, and other like requirements. The result? Westover triumphed. Despite being handed a nearly impossible task, Westover provided all the requested support and turned the aircraft from touchdown to take-off in 53 minutes. The crew landed back at Dyess with 27 minutes to spare. The jubilant and profoundly grateful aircraft commander filled out a lengthy customer survey form that praised Westover for this significant accomplishment. He closed it with the following statement, which really sums it all up:"I personally would like to thank every individual who was associated with taking care of our needs. We could not have made it home without your dedicated and professional service."
- Another PMI Employee at Westover ARB, MA has gained a reputation for providing exceptional customer service, as evidenced by a recent customer survey input from valued 439th AMXS customer, Tracy Needham. Tracy wrote, "Mr. Stott goes out of his way to help the customer; I called to request a/c sealant on a weekend, as I was told they couldn't finish a window without it. Tom was doing something else in Supply but stopped and went out of his way to get us the sealant in record time so the job could be completed. As always, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!".
- A PMI Employee at Peterson AFB, CO received high-praise from a Senior Government Official, Lieutenant General Hamel, citing her professionalism and proficiency. She epitomizes PMI's motto: "Commitment to Excellence".
- PMI's Malmstrom Crew Aces AFSPC Inspection. Jerry Pepke and company have done it again. During a recent Air Force Space Command Inspector General (IG) inspection, it became clear that Jerry and his outstanding team are consistently finding new ways to deliver outrageous customer service to the Government. The steely IG is not an organization to hand out praise lightly, but it can't seem to help itself when inspecting PMI's Malmstrom operation. For example, see if you can keep an accurate coin count: All four Malmstrom fuels personnel received IG coins for superior performance (they received zero write-ups during the inspection); two of those employees received additional coins from the IG Team Chief, Col Adams. Additionally, three supply personnel received coins for error-free operations in Quality Assurance, Equipment Management and Maintenance Supply Liaison. The IG specifically mentioned a number of key 341st Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) operations, which PMI supports, in their official report. These included stellar comments regarding PMI's support of the 341st LRS Fuels Laboratory, Mobility Bag Section, Individual Body Armor accountability, Maintenance Supply Liaison, and numerous other Supply functions. Jerry, once again, many thanks to you and your outstanding crew for setting a standard far beyond what our customers could ever expect from anyone other than PMI.
